The Library - Syntactic Labyrinths

Syntactic Labyrinths is honestly the project that kickstarted Blauw Films into what it is today :)

A science-fiction short film, way too ambitious for us in 2018, about the preservation of mankind's knowledge.
Not the preservation of our species in a physical form. No. A metaphysical representation of us all.

I specifically remember talking with Erick Alcaraz and Michael Wood about starting a sci-fi film.

"A photorealistic space epic—made independently..."

I also remember speaking to a buddy of mine who said "If it's not as good as Interstellar, I'm not watching it.".

These core ambitions together with reading "The Library of Babel" by Jorge Luis Borges were all the spark we needed.

We embarked on a 7+ year journey—that's still ongoing, in which Syntactic Labyrinths was born.

We developed the story and the world it lives in. Then we started collaborating with wonderful talent from all over the world.

And finally we started partnering with incredible companies that could bridge the gap between our ambition and making it a reality :)

The Library is mankind's final attempt at preserving its collective knowledge.

Containing thousands of Zettabytes (ZB) of data—the Library is sent into space with destination Andromeda Galaxy.

Built to withstand a journey of a billion years +, the Library is made to be found and hopefully understood by a distant intelligent species.

Thus preserving our legacy...
